How do I get abroad?
In order to participate in the Erasmus program, you must be enrolled in a regular degree program at KIT. For Bachelor students, you must be at least in your 5th semester at the time of your stay abroad.
Find out about the partner universities and the courses they offer: Visit the websites of the host universities and take a look at the courses they offer.
Complete the online application: Go to the Mobility Online website and start your application.
- Upload data: Upload all required documents (e.g. transcripts, language certificates, current grade transcript).
- Prioritize universities: Enter up to 5 preferred universities in your prioritization.
Select your subjects: Decide on the courses you would like to take during your stay.
Create a Digital Learning Agreement (DLA): Make sure that the courses you choose can be recognized here at KIT.
Approx. 30 ECTS per semester: Plan your timetable so that you achieve around 30 ECTS per semester. This is the desired workload.
Confirm the Digital Learning Agreement: Have your DLA approved and signed by your academic advisor. Master's students should contact the student advisory service for their specialization.
Learning Agreement for first choice university: You only need to create a Learning Agreement for the university that is on your priority 1.
The main criterion for classification is your current grade point average (Bachelor's and, if applicable, Master's), taking into account your overall academic progress. Language skills in the language of the country/lecture will also be taken into account.
After the application deadline, you will receive feedback as to whether you have been offered a place for your first choice or whether we can offer you a place at another university of your choice. After you have accepted your place, you will receive an e-mail from the International Students Office (IStO) with a registration link for their administration system. You must register there and follow the entire process in order to receive financial support. You can find more information here.
